When the Discovery homepage appears make sure it has your name on it.
Click on the "My Assignments" tab and you should see a file titled "Satire."
Click on the folder and you will see 4 files.
Watch the two videos (Jonathan Swift and Satire) and then write 5 facts for each (total of 10 facts).
You will need to turn in your 10 facts on Monday, March 2 (Periods 2,4,6) or Tuesday, March 3 (Periods 1,3,5).
This assignment is worth 10 points.

Research Paper Final Draft Rubric
1. No first person!
Anyone who uses first person (I, me, myself, etc.) anywhere in their (unless it is a quote from a source) will automatically start at a "C" and may go lower. I have explained from day one that research papers can not contain first person.
2. You must meet the 6 page requirement.
Remember that is using 12 point font, double spaced.
3. The works cited page will be the very last page and you must have a minimum of 5 sources.
4. Sources in your paper need to be quoted correctly. Make sure if you are copying someone else's words you put quotes around it.
5. If your percentage of copying from sources is higher than 25% you will start automatically at a "C."
6. Make sure you read through your paper for grammar and typo mistakes. If your paper has too many errors you will have points deducted.
7. If worse comes to worse, turn in what you have so that at least I can give you credit for something instead of getting a zero.
Being absent is no excuse for not submitting your paper to Turnitin.com!

Choir Boy fieldtrip
On Friday, February 27 I am going to take a fieldtrip to see the play "Choir Boy."
If you are interested in coming you need to prove to me that you are really interested in seeing this play. In order to get a fieldtrip form you need to read the review from the Miami Herald I have copied below and watch the short youtube video and explain to me what it is about the play that makes you want to see it. Tell me what aspects or ideas of the play catch your attention.
I can only take 40 students with me so availability is limited. Bring me your explanation no later than Monday, February 9th.
