Second Nine Weeks Test Review and Important Reminders

So on Monday, December 17 (Periods 1,3,5) and December 18 (Periods 2,4,6) you will be taking a test to basically show me that you have understood the major concepts we have covered this nine weeks.

Topics:
1. Compare/Contrast Essay -- Can you identify a thesis statement?  Can you identify that subjects that are being compared/contrasted?  Can you identify supporting details?

2.  Sonnets -- There are two types of sonnets: Italian (Petrachan) and English (Shakespearean).  Sonnets have 14 lines and each type has a different rhyming pattern.

3.  Rhetorical Devices -- There are four:  Analogy, Repetition, Rhetorical Question, and Antithesis.  Make sure you know the definition of each.  You may also need to identify examples.

4.  Gladiators word of the day -- I will give you the list of words from October 29 - December 14.  You will pick any five of the words and create a sentence for each.  You will only receive credit if you use it correctly in a high school level sentence.
