Mrs. Manfra read...

So I figured I would start something new this year:
Whenever I finish a book I am going to share it with all of you.  As you all upload your summer reading books here is the latest book I just finished reading this past week.

The One and Only by Emily Giffin

In this novel the main character, Shea, is a major football fan.  Growing up with her best friend Lucy, whose father happens to be the head coach at Walker University, explains her passion for the game.  As the novel opens, Lucy's mother has passed away after fighting cancer and it makes Shea start thinking about her life and the choices she has made.
Lucy's father, Coach Carr, actually recommends that she look into a job as a sports writer for a local newspaper and she ends up interviewing for the job and gets it.  However, trying to be unbiased proves to be more difficult then she thought.
She also breaks up with her boyfriend and meets up with the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys who she happens to know because they went to school together.  He is recently divorced, but they decide to start dating and they get along great since both of them love football so much.
I don't want to ruin the ending, but there are some plot twists that may surprise you.
I definitely would recommend this novel to girls who enjoy football and feel sometimes like they are misunderstood by girls who have no clue about the sport.
It might leave you questioning your own life:
"Are you truly happy?  Are you living up to your potential?"
